CSP Leadership Meetings and Events Division

2008 Edu-networking Series

Superior educational offerings and extraordinary networking opportunities are standards of CSP Leadership Meetings and Events!

In 2007, CSP merged with its conference partner, Leadership Network Corp., to form CSP Leadership Conferences & Events Division. The combined new meetings division was developed with the philosophy of “providing innovative communication programs with superior opportunities to help build relationships and foster insightful discussion.”  What we like to call – Edu-networking.

CSP customers include manufacturers, wholesalers, brokers and retailers to the convenience retailing and foodservice industries. CSP Leadership Conferences & Events Division is now uniquely capable to deliver an integrated offer of meetings, conferences and events to meet varying needs -- from global general learning to category-specific learning (both private and public).

If you would like to be considered for any of CSP Leadership Conferences & Events Division edu-networking series products listed below or private advisory programs, please contact CSP’s Kay Segal at ksegal@cspnet.com or Bryn Cotton at bcotton@cspnet.com.

 ¨ Think Globally ..

CSP’s insider’s view of business translates into high value experiences for retailers and their suppliers with programs that are unmatched in giving attendees the opportunity to access the  information that’s meaningful to them in a stimulating “edu-networking environment.

CONVENIENCE RETAILING CONFERENCE:
San Antonio, Texas

February 11-13, 2008

Convenience Retailing Conference is a middle and senior management conference delivering consumer insights and  retailing empowerment in the convenience and petroleum industries. Moving into its twelfth year, we will introduce Convenience Retailing University – a conference program designed for more learning and takeaways on industry tropics that are fresh and relevant.  The focus of this event is on education and innovation for category managers, senior marketing teams, operations executives and foodservice managers.

NACS SOI SUMMIT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CSP:
Chicago, Illinois
April 9-11, 2008
The sixth annual NACS State of the Industry Summit in partnership with CSP delivers a thorough review of the 2007 NACS SOI data by dissecting comprehensive industry data.  With category specific sessions and industry figures covering everything from gasoline to all in-store categories, both middle and senior level executives find high value from this annual gathering of our industry’s thought-leaders.

CSP INDEPENDENT SUMMIT:
Chicago, Illinois
June 16 – 17, 2008
This second annual CSP program is entirely focused on the 1-10 store universe and is designed to help suppliers understand their needs. Not all independents are alike!  This does not sound like news, but to many manufacturers selling programs into the convenience store channel of trade, the “independent” nature of the independent retailer group (some 65,000 + locations) creates challenging dynamics for selling and execution.

6th ANNUAL CSP LIABILITY AND RISK FORUM
Seattle, Washington
August 20-22, 2008
This Forum targets the issues and surrounding product liability, foodservice safety, risk management, employee and site security as well as the related business and consumer concerns. The program is geared toward executives with these specific areas of discipline: legal, finance, risk management, marketing and/or business ownership.

FOODSERVICE AT RETAIL EXPO
Chicago, Illinois
August 11-13, 2008
Retailers from many channels are expanding their foodservice offer to help replace eroding margins of two major categories – gasoline and cigarettes. This new trade show is a 2-day multi-channel event focused exclusively on food;  combining in-depth foodservice information, dynamic speakers, strong networking and a tradeshow featuring the latest equipment, food products, food programs and services for all retail food channels (except fine dining and casual dining).  This program incorporates education previously found at CSP’s Foodservice Category Review meeting with a full trade show element to equal a great “time spend”.

OUTLOOK LEADERSHIP:
September 15 – 17, 2008
Washington, D.C.
Over 350 top executives from the nation’s leading convenience and retail petroleum businesses (representing more than 70% of the retail outlets in America) are attendees of the Outlook Leadership Conference.  The unique programming and design of Outlook Leadership gives a global perspective and industry insights in an environment where relationship-building is center stage.

CSP CONSUMER INSIGHTS FORUM:
Phoenix, Arizona
November 5-7, 2008
Understanding consumer segmentation is  key  to developing the right merchandising mix and customer service  demanded by today’s multi-cultural & varying demographic. Studying our customers' preferences, recognizing their different needs and creating relevant business plans to meet those needs will lead to success for c-stores today and in the future.  This expanded forum, now in its third year, will allow retailers a “one-stop” location for all consumer insight !

¨ Focus Specifically .....

For the last 10 years CSP has  provided  retailers the opportunity to participate in topic, or category-specific programs.  These high-impact, face-to-face, limited attendance programs strengthen existing relationships, build new industry friendships and provide insight via research and dialogue. These programs are geared to category managers, buyers, marketing executives, operations executives and small business owners.

5th Annual CSP Cold Vault Category Review
     Dallas, Texas
March 4-5, 2008
The cold vault beverage retailing arena continues its adventurous ride with new category entrants and growth in non-traditional c-store packages.  Changes continue to bring both exciting opportunities and challenges that need to be addressed.  From beer to energy drinks, attendees will capture trend data, discuss channel opportunities for growth and build important relationships.

4th Annual Unbanked & Underbanked Services Forum:
Las Vegas, Nevada
March 3 – 5, 2008
Over 350 top executives from the nation’s leading convenience and retail petroleum businesses (representing more than 70% of the retail outlets in America) are attendees of the Outlook Leadership Conference.  The unique programming and design of Outlook Leadership gives a global perspective and industry insights in an environment where relationship-building is center stage.

5th Annual CSP Snack and Candy Category Review
    San Antonio, Texas
(in conjunction with the McLane National Tradeshow)
April 13 – 14, 2008
We all know snacking is BIG business in the US, so how can c-store retailers and suppliers capitalize on the ever fickle consumer needs of taste, excitement and (sometimes) health. CSP’s 5th Annual Snack & Candy Category Review will provide the insight and discussion that will help our industry understand these trends and business issues

CSP Hot Dispensed Beverage “Plus” Symposium
    Minneapolis, Minnesota
May 5 – 6, 2008
Hot Beverages is the growth engine within developing & highly-profitable foodservice categories.  Until now, this category hasn’t had its time in the spotlight.  CSP is coordinating a hot beverage “plus cold coffee and dispensed tea” category review meeting.  Teaming up with the Specialty Coffee Association of America Annual Conference & Tradeshow, CSP’s offering includes educational  programs for the overall coffee industry followed by discussions on how to apply this broad insight in our channel of trade .

3rd Annual CSP Import, Specialty & Craft Beer Summit
Location: Boston, MA
June 2-4, 2008
The Import, Specialty & Craft sub-segment of the beer category is the fastest growing and most profitable high-margin segment in the beer category; however it remains under-developed in c-stores. This summit is dedicated to delivering impartial data and best practices enabling c-store retailers to maximize sales of their entire beer category. The fact that there is nothing else like this available in our industry makes it a must attend program for alcoholic beverage category managers.

5th Annual CSP Tobacco Category Review
     Chicago, Illinois
August 18-19 2008
The questions around tobacco are not if change will occur, but how quickly and its impact overall on tobacco merchandising and marketing.  CSP will once again provide insight to the latest changes within the tobacco categories and uncover the magical opportunities.

¨ Focus Specific… Private “off the record” Advisory Meetings

CSP Information Group has been executing proprietary advisory groups for numerous leading convenience retailing suppliers for many years.  Working closely with suppliers and their customers, CSP fosters open dialogue, helping each gain insight into product development, marketing strategy, merchandising techniques and execution tactics that will deliver mutual growth.
